A Father and his two young children were swimming in the Atlantic when the tide began to take them out to sea. The Father decided to get his son to the land and told his daughter Mary that he was going to shore for help. The father said “If you get tired, turn on your back. You can float all day on your back. I’ll come back for you.”

After the Father made it back to the shore a frantic search began for the girl.

The little girl was found far out to sea calmly floating on her back without fear in the midst of the vast ocean. When she got back to shore everyone wondered how she had stayed so calm.

The little girl said, “Daddy said he would come for me and that I could float all day, so I swam and floated because I knew he would come”. The promises of a Father that loved her kept her calm and she survived.

In our present day many people feel like this world is an ocean of turmoil and we can be tempted to panic. Instead of panicking we must cling to God’s word in order to get us through these trying times.

Jesus said,

I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14.3)

All of us can survive the trials of our lives with peace and calm if we would simply remember the Words of Jesus and His promised return for us.
