Read the Bible for yourself

2 Timothy 2:15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Today many Catholics are unaware of the fact that the Catholic Church teaches many traditions that are unbiblical and even damaging to ones spiritual life.  If Catholics would read the Bible for themselves then they would be able to discover the great truths of the Christian faith uncluttered by false man-made traditions.

Christening or baptism cannot save anyone

Titus 3:5

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;  Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;  That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Pope Francis states in regards to Baptism, “It makes us members of the Body of Christ…baptism passes faith to our children”. (The Sacraments of Faith 2014)

How sad that the spiritual leader of 1.2 billion Catholics is ignorant of biblical baptism and salvation. Scriptural baptism is for believers and never for babies. Not one person is in Heaven because of their baptism. Unfortunately the Pope directs people to the Sacraments rather than the Saviour for their eternal welfare.

Confession of sins to a priest cannot provide absolution

1 Timothy 2:5

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Neither Pope nor Priest can ever take away the sins of their people. Absolution of sins belongs to God and never to man.

If Catholics read their Bibles they would discover that there were no Confessional Boxes in the Temple or the Synagogues nor are they mentioned in New Testament Churches. The Confessional has been a diabolical instrument of Rome to deceive multitudes of Catholics into thinking that their sins are forgiven.

Unfortunately the Confessional has been and continues to be a place of refuge for numbers of pedophiles and criminals enabling them to confess their sins without fear of prosecution by the Church or secular authorities.  The Confessional has also aided many an evil offender to continue their lifestyles and to receive “forgiveness” from their priests with a penance of just a few Hail Mary’s.

The Mass can never remove your sins

Hebrews 10:11-12

And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.  But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Old Testament man-made sacrifices could never remove sins. In reality the Old Testament sacrifices actually pointed to Christ who would die on Calvary for the sins of the world. If Catholic Priests and their people just read God’s Word they would find that the Mass is never found even once in the Scriptures. The New Testament Communion Service was always a memorial of Christ’s death and never a sacrificial Mass.

Bowing before statues is forbidden by God

Exodus 20:4-5

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:  Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: …

Wherever the Catholic Church establishes a church, school, monastery, convent or mission work she introduces idolatry with her statues and the Mass. Bowing or kneeling before statues and the communion host is pure idolatry, God hates idolatry. Idolaters will not inherit the Kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

Praying to the Saints or saying the Rosary is sin

Deuteronomy 18:10-12

There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord:

Necromancy is attempting to communicate with the dead and is absolutely forbidden according to the Bible yet Roman Catholics are taught to pray to the Saints and even their dead relatives whom have passed away. This is sin, Jesus exposed the way that the heathens prayed with their vein repetitions.

The Rosary (multiple prayers to Mary) is a sinful practice of repetitive prayers that are not heard nor answered by Mary. Mary has no Divine attributes and is unable to answer any prayers whatsoever.

Matthew 6:7-8

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.  Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

The Pope is not the Holy Father

John 17:11

And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

The Pope dares to take for himself the name of God. The Holy Father refers to God and never to a man and is only mentioned once in the whole of the Scriptures. Jesus warned against calling religious leaders by the name of father (Matthew 23:8-9).

Every time that the Pope visits a nation many Catholics bow down before him in homage of him. Catholics are taught that the Church is ruled through the “Supreme Pontiff”- (The Pope) and the Bishops.  Most Catholics are unaware that in the coming Tribulation Period that the final world religious leader will demand worship of himself. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4)

Purgatory & Limbo do not exist

2 Corinthians 5:8

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

The Apostle Paul called himself the Chief of Sinners yet he knew that  the moment he died that he would be in the presence of the Lord. Paul (Philippians 1:23) nor the thief on the cross (Luke 23:43) were anticipating their entrance into Purgatory. Purgatory is not found in the pages of God’s Word.

The Catholic Church has also perpetuated the lie of Limbo as well. Limbo is a place of lost destiny for unbaptised babies, according to the famous Catholic Monk Thomas Aquinas. Catholic mothers whom have had their children die prior to baptism have been tormented by this false teaching on Limbo.

Heaven cannot be obtained by good works

Romans 3:20

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

If Catholics studied the Bible they would discover that no one enters Heaven because of their church attendance, good works or their religious devotion. God condemns self righteousness. We cannot do anything to merit our salvation. Salvation is all of grace and we are never saved by good works but we are saved for good works (Ephesians 2:8-10).

The Church cannot save. Salvation is only by faith in Jesus Christ.

John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Vatican II clearly teaches that salvation is through the Catholic Church and its sacraments. “For it is through Christ’s Catholic Church alone, which is the universal help towards salvation, that the fulness of the means of salvation can be obtained. It was to the apostolic college alone of which Peter is the head, that we believe that our Lord entrusted all the blessings of the New Covenant… (Vatican II Council, Decree on Ecumenism, chap. 1, 3, p. 415).

Salvation is not found in the Church and its sacraments. Believers in every church understand that salvation is found in Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins (John 3:16). Salvation is a free gift from God but you must receive it by faith.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 1:12

Tradition or Truth - which are you following?

Tradition or Truth - Vince Wall

The Catholic Church has strayed far from biblical truth.

All Christians must be prepared, no matter how high the cost, to confront false teachings wherever they find it, so that many who have a zeal for God can discover the true righteousness available in Jesus Christ.

This book is prepared with the prayer that Catholics will see the errors of the Church of Rome and turn to Jesus Christ alone. Also that Protestants will be made aware of the dangers of the ecumenical movement that is seeking to bring all churches together in a last-days world church.
